Quiet
So, it's been quiet here lately. It's tough to work a full-time job and come home at night and get drawing time. Currently I am working on a piece for a show in Chicago at Gallery Provocateur. The show is a tribute to Frank Frazetta, one of my heros. I'm very excited about the show and as soon as I have the pencils done I will give you a peek.

Nikita

Nikita is an amazing fire performer and though I couldn't have her do her fire show in my living room I hope this is the next best thing.

Script

I have been writing for a year. A script with characters I have been carrying around for a decade. It's 24 pages of action and adventure and sex and violence and Sci-Fi and is probably juvenile, depraved crap, but I can't fucking wait to draw it.
I'm letting my sweetheart read it. I'm scared to, because I've never, ever, never let someone else read my writing. I can draw any goddamn thing, but writing is a whole different pool and I'm still wearing water wings.
Of course I could be scared because she might realized how juvenile and depraved I really am.
Over the course of the year I have spent time with these characters. They are overblown and ridiculous but I am having fun with them and I hope that will come across in the drawings. So there, I guess I just announced my first creator owned comic is in production. Don't get too excited, sometimes things move slower than dick. I'm excited, so that should help.
I might post some early drawings here.
If someone gets the "water wings" reference right I'll be shocked . . . and give them some original art.

Last Night at Sesso
I had a great time last night at my second First Thursday opening. I met some really great people, signed a bunch of books and even saw a woman whose boobs were entirely covered in flame tattoos. I just want to give a shout out to Paul and Yasmin of Club Sesso who put on a great party in a truly classy and fun club.

It has ben sunny and warm here in Portland which is rare and makes it difficult to draw. It will rain this week so I should have stuff to post soon. Off to the beach.

New Sketches
An experiment
I don't really update my site - or at least haven't in a while and won't be for a bit, so I'm gonna show new work, make random announcements and bitch about stuff here. It's an experiment because I don't usually follow through with shit like this. Let's see how it goes, if it's fun I'll keep doing it.

RIP 52 Pin UP
It is time to officially announce the death of 52 Pin Up. Sorry to anyone who wanted to buy it. There will not be another one as Apple's policies and stupidity are just too much work. They have defeated me with unreasonable rules and inconsistency.

52 Pin Up Obituary
Last week 52 Pin UP, Ronnie Werner's pin up art/playing card App for iPhone and iPod touch was killed. In a senseless and cowardly move, Apple chose to murder the non-nude, previously approved app.
Apple gave no good justification for the slaying, it was simply removed after 6 months in the store.
When asked to comment the app's author had this to say. "I can only conclude that Apple's approval policies are run by puritanical, right wing pussies who are afraid of artwork depicting females. After removing any hint of nudity and reducing my work to something far tamer than a Victoria's Secret Catalog Apple decided to kill it. Fuck Apple and their hypocrisy."
